SALT JOURNEY: SALARY (Animation Detail)

¢urrēns is a body of work that encompasses a series of animated media vessels as installations and an animated film currently in production. The project explores the history of currency and its journey through the landscape. The root of its concept is how value is abstracted as time progresses and its connection with the origins of currency within the landscape versus today’s digital era. The “media vessels” around each animation are designed to create the sensation of passage through each chapter’s experience. The project is considered a form of modular storytelling — as each chapter represents a form of currency from the past, and can be installed non-linearly. These series of vignettes journey through time and economic value systems: deconstructing the meaning of currency in various forms. Currently, animated chapters include themes of "“Salt” and “Gold” and “Tulips”
