AQUACADE:
Aquacade is a short, experimental film inspired by hidden histories of underwater NYC. Beginning with the catalyst of Mayor LaGuardia’s prohibition of pinball machines and his media spectacle of sledgehammering them into the East River, Aquacade explores the stranger than fiction remnants of the city’s past underwater. The film combines multiple techniques in animation: blending stop motion, 2D, and 3D with archival footage and a fabricated miniature underwater world.
